Southern Highlands Reserve is thrilled to announce our newest team member, Lauren Garcia Chance, PhD. Formerly the Communications Assistant at the American Public Gardens Association while completing her PhD from Clemson University, Lauren brings her inquisitive mind and passion for plants to SHR as our Director of Research & Conservation. In this new position at the Reserve, Lauren will protect and catalog the hundreds of plant species native to western North Carolina found here. This includes managing our digital plant database and Nursery Complex.
