Penn State University features the Center for Pollinator Research, which investigates a wide variety of challenges facing pollinators. Research ranges from experiments with native versus cultivars for insect attraction to molecular and genetic research of honey bee responses to pesticide exposure. In addition, the Pollinator Garden at the Arboretum at Penn State features a large variety of native plants that have been found to be especially attractive and beneficial for a range of pollinator species, and plans are currently in place to expand the garden to highlight ongoing projects from the Center for Pollinator Research.
