Ten years ago, The University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum discovered the rare Bombus affinis rusty-patched bumble bee living with its gardens, spurring an initiative to document all their pollinators and associated plants. The arboretum today uses citizen science to connect visitors and volunteers with local pollinators, and also shares plant recommendations for pollinator-friendly gardens with the public.
