What is a Nature Preschool? Why are they important? And how on earth do you keep all those kids away from the poison ivy? Panelists from Queens Botanical Garden, Chicago Botanic Garden, and Newfields will share stories of opening a nature-based preschool. Presenters will share: 1) motivations for opening nature preschools at their institutions, 2) specific challenges and successes during the first few years of implementation, and 3) visual documentation of nature preschools in action. Whether you are planning to open a nature-based preschool or implement outdoor play-based programming, this session will provide ideas and inspiration for providing hands-on learning opportunities for young children.
