We are all connected to plants through the food we eat. A foodbased garden starts conversations and gets people interested while providing an entrée to programs and interpretation in numerous topics including science, history, literature, and even climate change. This presentation highlights six gardens and how they engage varied audiences on many topics. This diverse group of presenters will show you how to incorporate a food-based garden and stay relevant with current interests in slow food, vegetable gardening, and cooking. Find out how to revitalize traditional lessons on plant biology and explore new methods to demonstrate trending topics of being active, healthy eating, climate change, and local/organic benefits.
