This video from the 6th Global Botanic Gardens Congress features Cristián Samper who joined WCS as President and Chief Executive Officer of WCS in August 2012. Prior to this appointment, he was Director of the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History (MNH). Known for his work in the ecology of the Andean cloud forests, conservation biology and environmental policy, Dr. Samper is currently on the board of the Carnegie Institution for Science, CIAT and Science for Nature and People Partnerships (SNAPP). He is a member of the Council on Foreign Aairs; and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
