Innovative technologies are being applied to conserve water in drought stricken southern California:

1) The Ventura Botanical Gardens’ fog capture experiment has been ongoing since early 2015 with the goal of assessing the feasibility of scaling up the technology.

2) The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden is improving on total efficacy of water conservation through strategies such as centrally-controlled irrigation, water harvesting, and storage.

3) The Water Conservation Garden demonstrates and educates all water conservation efforts: drought tolerant plants appropriate for the Southern California climate, water harvesting, proper irrigation, and use of mulch.
