Museum Hill in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is home to the Santa Fe Botanical Garden, four varied museums, the largest annual gathering of international folk artists, and the National Park Service. Three years ago these diverse organizations came together to explore if and how they could build common ground and to raise their collective profile through collaborative marketing, program development, and creation of a new master plan. This successful, ongoing partnership can serve as an inspiration and template for other gardens who seek to expand audience engagement through partnerships. Participants will learn to break down perceived or real barriers regarding possible partners. Sometimes the most challenging alliances can reap the greatest rewards for all involved.
