Distracted driving is a leading cause of the increasing number of auto accidents and the severity of resulting injury and damages. Understanding how to avoid distraction and implementing best driving practices to keep our employees, volunteers and guests safe will be our focus in the next couple of newsletter articles.
The University of Minnesota has done considerable research on Roadway Safety. One recent study involved the impact of using a cellphone while driving; their findings are startling, indicating that cellphone usage impairs one’s ability to drive more than being intoxicated. Talking on a cellphone and other driver distractions pose a major hazard to those on the road and potentially within our Gardens.
