The incumbent serves as the Lead Scientist of the Germplasm Project at the U.S. National Arboretum. Incumbent is responsible for the acquisition, preservation, characterization, evaluation, and distribution of woody landscape plant germplasm and associated information including horticultural, genomic/genetic, and geospatial information, to the nursery industry, researchers, and botantical institutes through the Woody Landscape Plant Germplasm Repository (WLPGR).
