Salary $56,233 to $88,450 per year

Duties & Responsibilities 

This position is located in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), United States National Arboretum (USNA), Gardens Unit, located in Washington, DC.

The incumbent of this position is responsible for writing, editing and producing signage, electronic content, brochures, and other products including writing and editing text for the exhibits and displays interpreting the research, collections, gardens and features of the USNA within the context of its mission.

Major Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Writing text for the following types of interpretive materials: brochures; reports; written guides; docent information; signs; visual presentations; rack pieces; and fact sheets. Ensuring written text is appropriate for the material’s purpose and intended audience. Developing social media pages or blogs to engage people to learn more about plants and gardening. Researching information for written content for interpretive products related to plants or gardening.
Providing guidance on theme development, layout, presentation, and timelines to clients or stakeholders.
