Seed Savers is now hiring for a Seed House Sales Representative. This position is responsible for managing, promoting and selling SSE retail products and services through current sales channels (wholesale seed rack accounts, bulk and packet seed sales). This position is also part of an inter-departmental team to develop new sales channels. This includes increasing the placement of our seeds in stores in the United States and Canada, and helping to increase revenue for the SSE Seed Catalog. The Seed House Sales Representative works with the Marketing/Communications teams in the development and implementation of all sales initiatives to meet the business and mission objectives of Seed Savers Exchange. This position plays a significant role as a leader focused on customer satisfaction and attaining the long and short term sales and customer count goals for the organization.

Manage the retail store accounts, leading the Wholesale Seed Rack program
Monitors leads, prospects, and maintains existing customer relationships by gauging customer satisfaction, loyalty, and needs
Evaluates product, price, promotion, and placement
Inputs and processes orders, credits and returns for Wholesale Accounts
Composes newsletters and surveys in collaboration with Marketing/Communications team
Works with Marketing/Communications team to create marketing tools and POP materials such as brochures and seed displays
Monitors competition to enhance sales efforts focus by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery schedules, shipping fees, merchandising, sales volume
Develops and executes strategies to achieve customer service goals and quarterly/ annual sales goals
Communicates new product and service opportunities, special developments, information or feedback gathered through field activity with customers to appropriate company staff
Crafts sales presentations specific to customer type and needs in conjunction with other team members
Develops and evaluates new potential customer segments for the Seed Catalog/Wholesale racks
Ability to present detailed information in a clear manner
Positive and self-motivated
Excellent organizational skills
Able to adapt to changing work environments
Gardening experience preferred
Sales skills with 3-5 years’ experience with track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals
Problem solving abilities; mentally tough and determined
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Processes strong business acumen/exceptional ‘Outside’ sales and marketing, customer focused experience within a B2B setting
