Job Description 

Admission Cashier/Greeters at Queens Botanical Garden are responsible for ticket booth operations, overseeing the reception desk, and welcoming guests, members and group visitors. Cashiers provide best in class customer service by fielding questions about QBG, giving directions around the Garden, and providing information about upcoming programs and events. Candidates must be knowledgeable about all things QBG including but not limited to the Garden’s admission and parking prices, upcoming programs and events, and benefits of QBG Membership.

Cashier Responsibilities:

 Answer questions from visitors and resolve any concerns
 Complete ticket transactions through the Garden’s Point of Sale (POS) system
 Complete credit card and cash transactions, distributing correct change to visitors
 Ensure the security of all cash and tickets
 Keep ticket booths and surrounding areas clean and well organized; weed planted areas near ticket booths, sweep pathways, assure entrances and exits are well groomed and maintained at all times
 Assist with other functions as instructed by Visitor Services Supervisors

Reception Desk Responsibilities:

 Greet groups and individuals arriving for classes, tours, meeting and events
 Answer phone inquiries and direct questions to appropriate staff extensions
 Receive and log delivered packages, communicate with appropriate staff for pickup
 Maintain QBG Store displays, lobby area, V&A terrace in a neat and attractive manner; refresh literature and signage as needed

Qualifications:

 Good verbal communication, customer service, math and cash handling skills
 Ability to communicate and work effectively with guests in high-volume setting
 Physical ability to weed, which includes bending and kneeling
 Weekend, weekday and daytime availability required
 May be asked to stay late for special event evenings
 Second language preferred (Mandarin and Spanish)
