Established in 1893, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a green leader among public gardens with a mission to inspire and educate all with the beauty and importance of plants; to advance sustainability and promote human and environmental well-being through action and research; and to celebrate our historic glasshouse.
Phipps is seeking a full-time Facilities Foreman to take lead in performing routine, heavy custodial and labor-related tasks while supervising our team of Maintenance Laborers. The Phipps campus encompasses internationally recognized glass houses and extraordinary buildings that demonstrate the most energy-efficient and healthy built environments in the world. The Facilities Foreman will manage daily maintenance needs throughout facilities, ensuring immaculate maintenance at all times to meet the highest guest service standards. The Facilities Foreman will work closely with the Facilities Manager to determine maintenance needs, prioritize work orders, train and direct Maintenance Laborers, and will also assist with show installations, special events and seasonal displays.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest in sustainability, along with strong organizational and management skills and a strong work ethic. Two or four-year degree in an appropriate field and maintenance experience are required, as well as a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
