About Green-Wood
Over the past decade, Brooklyn's Green-Wood Cemetery has become one of the most unexpected and exciting destinations for culture and education in New York City. As a 478-acre accredited Level III Arboretum, Green-Wood is one of Brooklyn's largest green spaces. Some of its most recent programs include a climate change initiative with Cornell University on urban grasslands, arboretum interpretation, and wildlife studies, in addition to outdoor musical performances, concerts in the catacombs, and art installations on the grounds. As a National Historic Landmark whose beginnings date back to 1838, Green-Wood welcomed more than 330,000 visitors in 2018 alone. Some visited the graves of the famous, or the infamous. Green-Wood's bold ambition for the 21st century is to become a major destination for New Yorkers and tourists by providing extensive public programming and visitor services, while maintaining its status as one of the nation's most beautiful, historic landscapes. Its unique combination of art, history and nature make Green-Wood a beloved destination for visitors from around the world.

Duties & Responsibilities 

This position will report to the Director of Development. The ideal applicant will have excellent communication skills, social dexterity, and cultural awareness. Responsibilities will include managing the CRM, including gift entry, purchases, event participations, and memberships, produce acknowledgements, assist with fundraising appeals and donor cultivation. Further, the position includes developing and implementing volunteer programs, community engagement events and campaigns that strengthen Green-Wood’s accessibility as an urban greenspace. This position will oversee Green-Wood’s membership program, including new member acquisition and renewals.

Education and Experience 

Experience with Raisers Edge or similar fundraising database and membership management experience strongly preferred. Familiarity with computers, including Office suite is a must. Strong writing skills and a sense of humor warmly welcomed. Must be available for occasional evening or weekend hours to assist with events or special projects. Applicants with Spanish and/or Mandarin language skills are encouraged to apply.
