Job Description 

The recently-restored and replanted Snake Creek Floodplain is a critical component of Whiting Forest of Dow Gardens. The intern will assist in maintaining the area and research appropriate watering, mulching, and mowing strategies to ensure the health and vitality of the designed ecotype. Candidates are required to deliver a presentation, summarizing the program and their progress, upon conclusion.

Duties & Responsibilities 

The intern will assist in maintaining the area and research appropriate watering, mulching, and mowing strategies to ensure the health and vitality of the designed ecotype. Candidates are required to deliver a presentation, summarizing the program and their progress, upon conclusion.

Education and Experience 

• Junior or Senior in natural resources, horticulture, plant science, or related field of study
• Prepared to work in a variety of weather conditions
• This position will require frequent standing, candidates must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
• Willing to operate a variety of equipment including mowers, weed whips, and blowers
• Adheres to safety protocols
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Valid driver’s license required
