Job Summary: This position is responsible for assigned aspects of staff training including, but not limited to scheduling, developing, preparing, facilitating and monitoring the training progress of all Member and Visitor Services staff. The incumbent will work closely with the management and coordinator teams to conduct successful and effective training for new and current staff. Additional responsibilities include, scheduling Member and Visitor Services staff, identifying employee engagement opportunities and keeping up-to-date training and resource documents.

Essential Job Duties:
Successfully oversee and lead staff training for the Membership and Visitor Services team at York St and Chatfield Farms.
Develop and document effective and efficient training procedures for Membership and Visitor Services staff.
Schedule all Member and Visitor Services Representatives and Coordinators at York St and Chatfield Farms.
Identify employee engagement opportunities for Membership, Visitor and Volunteer Services teams.
Keep up-to-date training and resource documents for the Membership and Visitor Services team.
Create streamlined, innovative and successful training and scheduling policies and procedures.
Coordinate necessary staffing for general admission as well as special events and educational programs as needed.
Ensure compliance of all DBG and Operating Policies and Procedures. Set, communicate and ensure compliance with policies for reports, customer service, cash handling, refunds, and admissions opening and closing.
Proactively work to identify skill or knowledge gaps and conduct department-wide trainings as needed.
Other Job Duties:
Maintain regular admissions hours, as well as operate during special events, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
Assist management in interview hiring and onboarding process for new employees.
Assist management in employee assessments.
Assist Coordinators in completing daily tasks during busier times.
Act as a positive role model for the Membership, Visitor and Volunteers Services teams and Denver Botanic Gardens.
Work with all departments to assure highest quality experience for all DBG visitors throughout the Gardens.
Proactively seeks to be knowledgeable about all DBG horticulture, exhibits, programs and events to reflect the experience and brand at the Gardens.
Perform other duties or special projects as requested by management.
Education/Experience: Associate degree; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum three (3) years’ experience working in a museum/cultural environment or similar type organization preferred. Must have strong organization and problem solving skills, leadership skills, and have experience with successfully motivating and training personnel. Must be detail oriented and flexible. Must possess excellent customer service skills and written, spoken communication skills and strong analytical skills. Strong computer skills in Windows-based applications, retail POS software management and Raiser’s Edge and ATMS software preferred. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Colorado driver’s license, have reliable transportation and acceptable insurance. Additionally, must have a satisfactory driving record. This position is required to travel and work some weekends and evenings.
