Job Description 

Job Summary: This position proactively and courteously solicits Gift Shop sales while assessing and ensuring a respectful, positive, safe and pleasant Garden experience for our members, visitors, and customers, fellow employees and volunteers.

Career Type: Part-time

Compensation:15.00 per hour

Duties & Responsibilities 

Essential Duties:

Welcome new and returning customers into the Gift Shop.
Process customer purchases, exchanges, and returns.
Proactively seek to be knowledgeable about all aspects of gift shop merchandise.
Pull damaged or un-ticketed merchandise from the sales floor
Keep sales floor stocked and cleaned throughout each shift.
Follow proper Gift Shop opening and closing procedures.
Provide the accurate cash reconciliation of TAM Retail settlements daily.
Work positively and collectively with other members of the team.
Other Duties:

Maintain stock and break room, keeping it in an orderly, efficient, and clean condition.
Partner with management and team members regarding status of assigned projects.
Assist Shipping/Receiving to ensure the accuracy of ticketing and receiving new inventory.
Proactively seek to be knowledgeable about all DBG facilities.
Provide timely and accurate information and answers to telephone calls coming into the Gift Shop.
Work with all departments to assure the highest quality experience for all DBG visitors.
Perform other duties or special projects as requested by management.

Education and Experience 

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum 1-2 years of retail and/or customer service environment. Ecommerce experience and background are required in addition to experience operating point-of-sale software (POS), handling cash transactions, daily sales reporting, and inventory management procedures. The ability to work evenings and weekends is also necessary.
