Associate Director of Philanthropy
Make the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it at Bok Tower Gardens as Associate Director of Philanthropy. The Gardens, located in historic Lake Wales, Florida seeks an experienced fund development and relationship management professional to cultivate and solicit leadership annual gifts and member support through personal interactions, direct mail, and other channels. Ideal candidates for this position will be skilled communicators, emotionally intelligent, people-focused, approachable, organized, and driven for results. The Associate Director of Philanthropy will work a varied, flexible schedule and be available to visit with stakeholders in person and virtually. Compensation will range $55,000-$65,000, based on experience. Incumbent must be vaccinated fully against COVID-19 (as defined by the CDC) prior to start date.
The Associate Director of Philanthropy's primary responsibility is to develop and nurture annual support while serving the greater development goals of Bok Tower Gardens. The scope of responsibilities of this position includes identification, cultivation, and solicitation of annual donors, mid-and higher-level members, and other stakeholders.
In addition, this position is responsible for development services related to annual giving and subsequent donor relations programs. Direct mail, e-solicitations, and personal solicitations are key functions of this role. This position will work cross-departmentally to reach goals and help to build a Gardens-wide culture of philanthropic support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify, cultivate and solicit members and annual donors who have the capacity to support the Gardens at higher levels.
Develop strategies and write proposals, direct mail solicitations, e-solicitations, and other collateral to inspire giving.
Create, write, and prepare donor relations materials including acknowledgement letters.
Plan and execute Annual Fund campaign efforts including direct mail, e-solicitations, and other solicitation methods as appropriate.
Assist with fundraising/cultivation/donor relations events and activities as needed.
Work with the philanthropy team to create annual reports, articles, and other communications as

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree preferred; four years of directly related work experience may substitute for Bachelor's degree.
Professional fundraising/development experience is desired.
Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to effectively present information in a variety of formats.
Knowledge of Blackbaud Altru system is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
