2019 American Public Gardens Association Volunteer Engagement Symposium

“Seeds of Engagement: Cultivating a Vibrant and Diverse Volunteer Program”

October 14-16, 2019 | Phoenix, AZ

Public Gardens are constantly changing with new visitor experiences, special events and programming, which means the role our volunteers play is changing as well.  More is not necessarily merrier when working with volunteer groups, but if you plan well and have trained staff assisting with project management, a large group can be a huge help in a botanical garden.

Are you thinking about introducing a docent program to your garden?  Do you have a docent program that is up and running but could use a little fertilization?  Have you inherited a docent program that could use some good but painful pruning cuts?

Join us in Phoenix as we explore these topics and more -  and tour Desert Botanical Garden and Heard Museum!

$350 members/$450 non-members
Hotel: Hyatt House, Scottsdale/Old Town
($149/night plus tax, reservations must be made through the symposium registration portal)
