The 2019 theme, Thrive Together, Diversity Grows Gardens is intended to show the impact our industry has in the world and push public gardens to be accessible and inclusive for all who work at and visit these spaces. From the valuable plant collections of the U.S. National Arboretum, to the “outdoor museums” of the Smithsonian, the pristine garden rooms at Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens, and the United States Botanic Garden, one of the oldest botanic gardens in North America, the 2019 host gardens will inspire and spark dynamic exchanges that celebrate diversity of thought, experience, and contributions through horticultural practices and public engagement.

2019 Call for Sessions Now Open!

Our online submission process is easy and allows you to compose abstracts securely and collaboratively with colleagues throughout the world.

Need a little help getting started? Consider reaching out to a Program Selection Committee Member. These industry professionals are experienced in a variety of public garden disciplines and are available to help members in designing and creating sessions and workshops for any track. Call for Participants - New Conference-Related Opportunity!

The United States Botanic Garden (USBG) and the American Public Gardens Association (Association) announce a call for gardens to contribute to an exhibit that will be onsite at the USBG in summer 2019, including during National Public Gardens Week and the Association’s annual conference in 2019. The exhibit will showcase the diversity and beauty of public gardens throughout North America.
