Pittsburgh Botanic Garden Receives $1 Million Endowment Gift from Dan and Barbara Eichenlaub

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – July 28, 2026 – Pittsburgh Botanic Garden recently announced a $1 million endowment gift from Dan & Barbara Eichenlaub at the annual celebration Blossom: Gone Native. This gift provides seed funding for innovative programs and mission-based projects, along with establishing an endowment that allows the Garden to continue growing for future generations.

Dan Eichenlaub is a co-founder and former President of Eichenlaub, Inc., a full-service landscape contractor servicing communities across western Pennsylvania. Dan has also been the founding principle of multiple green industry businesses and has demonstrated a steadfast dedication to showcasing the beauty of the western Pennsylvania landscape and investing widely in education and workforce development.

Dan & Barbara’s generous gift marks an exciting new chapter in the Garden’s history, creating the Eichenlaub Endowed Executive Director position and setting the stage for a bright, sustainable future at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden.
