Erin Anderson is the Executive Director of the Idaho Botanical Garden (IBG), where she leads a dynamic and growing organization with a mission to connect people, plants, and nature. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Boise State University and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University. Erin is a 2025 graduate of the International Women’s Forum Leadership Fellows Program.
With more than 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience, Erin has built a career focused on strategic planning, fundraising, organizational growth, and community impact. Prior to joining the Idaho Botanical Garden, she served as Executive Director of the Boise Urban Garden School (BUGS), where she led a transformative partnership with the City of Boise that enabled BUGS to become a program of the Boise Parks and Recreation Department while maintaining its independent nonprofit status. Throughout her career, Erin has been passionate about developing innovative solutions, strengthening organizations, and creating meaningful opportunities for community engagement.
In addition to her role at IBG, Erin is dedicated to volunteerism and civic leadership in the Boise community and beyond. She currently serves as President of the Idaho Arts & Culture Alliance Board of Directors and as a board member of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Boise State University School of Public Service Advisory Council, and the Boise State Alumni Association Board of Directors. Erin served as the Chair and Co-Chair of the APGA Executive Garden Leaders Community. She has also held leadership roles with numerous organizations, including the Idaho Women’s Charitable Foundation, the Junior League of Boise, Let’s Move Boise, and the Fund for Idaho.
Erin has been recognized with several honors, including Idaho Business Review’s Accomplished Under 40 (2011), Boise Young Professionals’ Young Leader of the Year (2014), Idaho Business Review’s Women of the Year (2016 and 2024), Influential Business Leaders in Idaho (2024), and CEO of Influence (2026).
