PR: National Public Gardens Day

The American Public Gardens Association is proud to recognize the 590+ public gardens nationwide through its national day of awareness, National Public Gardens Day. The day honors the roles that public gardens play in promoting green living, sustainability, plant and water conservation, and healthy outdoor activity.

Kennett Square, PA – The American Public Gardens Association joins communities throughout the United States in celebration of National Public Gardens Day. This annual tradition of celebrating public gardens happens on the Friday preceding Mother’s Day weekend, May 6, 2016. The day of public garden awareness invites communities nationwide to explore the diverse beauty of their local green spaces and to take advantage of the conservation, education and environmental preservation resources public gardens provide.

It’s also a day of fun, freebies, and perks! Member gardens across the country provide discounts, promotions, demonstrations, and other great celebratory incentives to visitors! The public can discover exciting offers at local gardens using the National Public Gardens Day searchable garden database. The database includes participating botanic gardens, arboreta, museums, zoos, and entertainment gardens.
