IDEA Center for Public Gardens 2023-24 Cohort Applications Open

The IDEA (Inclusion Diversity Equity Accessibility) Center for Public Gardens, a partnership between Denver Botanic Gardens and the Association, is opening applications for the 2023-24 cohort program March 1 through March 31.

You don’t want to miss this immersive opportunity to expand awareness, further develop fluency in the language of IDEA and connect with other gardens on a similar journey! The inaugural cohort program launched in May 2022 is approaching completion in May 2023, which involved 20 public gardens from across North America. To see who was involved and learn more about the program visit the Center’s website. Organizations interested in applying can do so through the website..

The cohort program includes a combination of learning approaches, including instructor-led learning modules, topical small group discussions and project-based experiential learning, with the following general timeline:

Onboarding: May 2023

Learning Modules, project kickoff and discussions: June 2023 - April 2024

Project conclusion, pilot program assessment and graduation: May 2024

Participation is open to public gardens of all sizes and operating budgets, whether you are early on or further developed in your IDEA journey. Our primary requirement is that each garden must include a board member, the executive director and one staff member participate for the duration of the program.
