Meadowlark Botanical Garden’s Hemerocallis Collection highlights the American Daylily Society’s most prestigious award winning cultivars and notable historic daylilies. The Stout Silver Medal award is the Society’s highest award, and Meadowlark holds specimens for every year the award has been given since its inception in 1950. Additionally, the collection includes every Lenington All-American award-winning daylily since the award’s inception in 1970, recognizing top-performing daylilies across diverse climates. Notably, over 70% of the collection has been designated as historic by ADS. Award-winning daylilies are organized in beds specific to their awards, while historically significant daylilies are arranged chronologically to highlight their evolution including a bed devoted to ADS Region 3 hybrids, allowing guests to easily navigate the gardens in search of specific cultivars or awards.
