Rochelle Wolberg, Curator-Director of Mounts Botanical Garden, congratulated two valuable team members for recent achievements:
Dorothy Jacks, Mounts Board of Directors
The Executive Women of the Palm Beaches Foundation has named Palm Beach County’s Property Appraiser Dorothy Jacks, CFA, AAS as the Women in Leadership Award honoree in the Public Sector. The award will be presented at the organization’s annual awards luncheon on Friday, April 30, 2021.
Jacks was elected as Palm Beach County’s Property Appraiser in 2016 after a distinguished 28-year career in the office. As a Certified Florida Appraiser and Assessment Administration Specialist, she has the highest professional designation in Florida and one of the highest international designations for someone who holds the office of Property Appraiser. Among her most notable accomplishments is the creation of the award-winning Property Appraiser’s Public Access (PAPA) website, the go-to tool for business, industry and government to access property data. In addition to serving on the Mounts Board of Directors since 2019, she is a board member of the Economic Forum of Palm Beach County and the Women’s Foundation of Palm Beach County, and an active alumnus and former board member of Leadership Palm Beach County. She has served as president of Executive Women of the Palm Beaches and president of the Friends of the Mandel Public Library.
Matt Boyson, Mounts Horticulture Supervisor
A longtime horticulturalist at Mounts, Matt Boyson was recently asked to serve on the board of the Florida Nurseries, Growers, and Landscapers Association, Palm Beach Chapter. He joined the Garden in 2008, shortly after earning an A.S. Degree in Landscape and Horticulture Management at Palm Beach State College. At Mounts, he is responsible for supervising maintenance at the various gardens, developing long-range maintenance programs and garden plans, and overseeing all of the horticultural operations.
“Both Dorothy Jacks and Matt Boyson have proven to be extraordinary assets for Mounts Botanical Garden in recent years, particularly as we continue to expand and attract new visitors, and we enthusiastically applaud their recent professional achievements,” Wolberg says.
