“Marty Mueller has been elected president of the board of directors of the Miami Beach Garden Conservancy, the nonprofit organization that manages the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Other new officers include Tim Dodson, first vice president; Kandi Stirman, second vice president; and Reagan Pace, secretary. Jarret Kaplan continues as treasurer.
Mr. Mueller, a resident of Miami Beach for nearly a decade, is former Peace Corps director in Ivory Coast and Haiti. He is co-owner of Art Deco Walks, an architectural walking tour company in Miami Beach’s historic district. He volunteers as a docent for History Miami, the Miami Design Preservation League and the New World Symphony.
Founded in 1962 as the Miami Beach Garden Center, today's Miami Beach Botanical Garden promotes environmental enjoyment, stewardship and sustainability through education, the arts, and interaction with the natural world. The Miami Beach Garden Conservancy, established in 1996, manages the Garden on behalf of its owner, the City of Miami Beach.”
