MobileCause

Thanks to a new partnership with MobileCause, the American Public Gardens Association is helping member institutions build their mobile fundraising capacity.

MobileCause is a leader in online and event fundraising software for nonprofits. The Association debuted its text-to-give platform at this past summer’s Annual Conference, raising over $10,000 in just one week for the Garden Scholars program.

As a new benefit to its members, the Association has teamed up with MobileCause to offer gardens the opportunity to “test drive” mobile fundraising in 2019 by helping gardens set up real campaigns raising real funds for their organization, using the Association’s platform.

Participating and Educational Opportunities
If your garden is not quite ready to invest in or take on this technology, the Association is offering two unique opportunities through its own account platform in 2019 to set up and run a campaign:

1) MYGARDEN Campaign: MobileCause and the Association are launching a nationwide MYGARDEN campaign in conjunction with National Public Gardens Week May 13-19, 2019. Between January and March 2019, we will be providing webinars and hands’-on tech support to help your garden register on the MYGARDEN platform, explore how to get creative with your messaging and the peer-to-peer/crowdfunding features, and run your own successful flash campaign along with other gardens around the country. 

Participating gardens pay only the 2.5% merchant processing fees plus a small % of the fund amount raised to support Association costs. This is a great low-cost, no obligation opportunity for your garden development team to try out this platform and raise actual funds in a coordinated nationwide effort.

2) GARDEN TO GARDEN DISASTER RESPONSE (G2GFUND): The Association stands ready with a G2GFUND mobile fundraising platform to come to the aid of gardens needing to raise funds quickly to support recovery efforts. We debuted this in the wake of Hurricane Irma with Cape Fear Botanical Garden to great success. As a member benefit, we offer this at no cost to gardens in need.
