The Role
The successful candidate will take primary responsibility for the maintenance and presentation of the main lodge gardens and surrounding areas, working closely with management and estate staff.
This is a hands-on, varied position that combines high-level gardening with general estate duties. Additional help is always available in peak periods.

Amistad Ranch, a prestigious 4,000-acre private hunting and sporting estate in South Florida (9A), is seeking applications for a full-time Private Gardener

This is a unique opportunity to work on one of the finest private estates in the United States, maintaining formal gardens and grounds to the highest standards while supporting the wider estate team in delivering an exceptional experience for the owner, family, and guests.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns, gardens, shrubberies, and parkland to exceptional standards
• Plan, plant, and manage a productive vegetable garden
• Care for a wide variety of trees, including pruning, fertilizing, and disease control
• Operate and maintain equipment, including chainsaws and commercial mowers
• Ensure all areas are safe, clean, and presented to a five-star standard

Education and Experience

Candidate Requirements

• 5 years’ proven experience working in large private gardens or similar in the Southern States.
• Strong practical knowledge of lawn care, horticulture, and tree maintenance
• Competent with estate equipment and machinery
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
• Professional, discreet, and respectful of privacy and confidentiality
• Flexible and willing to work extended hours when required
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Amistad Ranch is a private, family-owned estate combining formal gardens, parkland, forestry, and world-class sporting facilities. The ranch operates to the highest standards and hosts a wide range of private shooting and family events throughout the season.
