Job Description

SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS WILL RECEIVE:

– Full access to the Symposium, including education sessions (covering the latest in design, new plants, production, and marketing), tours (public and private gardens, perennial nurseries, and garden centers), and a trade show
– Full single-occupancy accommodations
– $1,000 stipend to cover travel/transportation and other incidentals
– An amazing experience at the Symposium with networking with over 400+ perennial industry experts!
– 1-year paid membership to the Perennial Plant Association

Deadline to apply is March 31, 2026 (ALL materials must be submitted by this date).

About Us

For more than twenty years, the Perennial Plant Foundation has been proud to support students through an experiential scholarship for attendance at the Perennial Plant Association’s National Symposium. Education and Experience

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY:

– Undergraduate students from a two-year, four-year, or graduate certificate (Canada) program with a major or minor in horticulture or a related field such as environmental science, landscape architecture, or agribusiness
– Graduate students working on an M.S., M.L.A., or Ph.D. in the above fields
– Recent graduates: Eligibility is extended to include December 2025 graduates
– Must have a minimum in-major 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
– Prior Perennial Plant Foundation scholarship recipients are ineligible at this time

Deadline to apply is March 31, 2026 (ALL materials must be submitted by this date).

Application Instructions

YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING FOR THE APPLICATION:

– Statement of Purpose: in 300 words or less, state why you wish to pursue a career in the perennial industry
– Describe your career goals and how this scholarship will help you meet them. Include your interest and work experience with perennials
– College Transcript: Please include a copy (does NOT need to be an official copy) of your college transcript of advising report
– Recommendation Letters: At least two letters of recommendation, including at least one letter from an academic advisor explaining your interest in horticulture and more specifically, perennials, and at least one letter from a perennial industry professional
