Job Description

We are looking specifically for trained gardeners, or gardeners with proven practical experience. The team is also looking to recruit under gardeners and groundsman of all backgrounds and levels of experience.

With the garden currently undergoing a dynamic redevelopment, this is a great opportunity for the right person to bring their creativity and skill to contribute to revitalisation of an historic garden.

About Us

Three Harbors Hill is an historic 1904 Gold Coast mansion, sitting on 40 acres, overlooking Oyster Bay, New York. Once owned by the Vanderbilt’s, the house and estate have been much changed over the years, with the gardens now undergoing expansion and restoration.

A new garden, overseen by published British garden historian and designer Todd Longstaffe-Gowen, is now being created with the work being overseen by a Head Gardener trained at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Duties & Responsibilities

The garden includes a woodland garden, a formal rose garden, large herbaceous borders, grass meadow, natural woodland as well as large areas yet to be cultivated.
Will include use of machinery and some ground work. Should be able to contribute to all area of the garden.

Maintain the grounds, ensuring they are in top condition
Operate and maintain maintenance equipment.
Assist with landscaping, mowing, irrigation, and other groundskeeping duties.
Perform tasks related to course upkeep as needed.

Education and Experience

Formal training or proven practical experience

Additional Information
