Job Title: Garden Designer
Job Type: Full-time exempt
Salary: $85,000-$105,000
Start Date: ASAP
Summary:
Curtis & Windham Architects seeks a Garden Designer to join our established landscape studio. This role offers the opportunity to shape landscapes as a central design discipline—establishing the direction of each project in dialogue with architecture and interiors.
Founded in 1992, our practice is grounded in the belief that landscape, architecture, and interiors should be developed in tandem—each strengthening the other to create cohesive, enduring work. We approach gardens as an essential extension of architecture, using structure and planting to define outdoor rooms that complete the composition of a place.
The Garden Designer will contribute from the earliest stages of design, bringing both horticultural knowledge and design sensibility to landscapes that balance spatial clarity with planting.

• Research plant palettes appropriate to project climate and site conditions
• Coordinate with landscape contractors, nurseries, and consultants
• Participate in site visits to guide the execution of landscape installations
• Support project teams in the preparation of drawings and documentation for landscape work
Education and Experience
• 3–7 years of professional experience, preferably with residential landscape projects
• Strong knowledge of horticulture and planting composition
• Interest in classical garden traditions and architectural landscapes
• Strong graphic, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary studio
