Job Description
The Engagement and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for building new partnerships and enhancing existing ones, focusing on removing barriers to access and expanding opportunities for community engagement. This position will broaden the Gardens’ reach and will require collaboration with internal teams and external partners to create and manage programs that support diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility initiatives. This position focuses on creating and executing strategies to boost community involvement, increase member participation and highlight the Gardens’ educational programs and events.

Salary
$22.26 – $27.83 – Per Hour
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops strategies to broaden the organization’s reach within the community, targeting underserved or new audiences.
- Researches and identifies potential community partners, such as local businesses, schools, nonprofits, government agencies and community groups.
- Initiates and cultivates relationships with these partners to collaborate on projects, events
- Plans, executes, and evaluates public events, workshops and outreach activities, both on-site and off-site.
- Monitors and analyzes event metrics, including participation rates and attendance trends.
- Works collaboratively with the Community Partnerships Coordinator to plan, execute and evaluate internal and external events.
- Serves as a liaison with community partners, representing Denver Botanic Gardens at local meetings and functions.
- Contributes to strategic planning, leadership and professional development initiatives within the department and throughout Denver Botanic Gardens.
- Engages with key stakeholders, including board members, donors and community leaders to strengthen and support partnerships.
- Regular attendance at the worksite may be required. As with all positions at Denver Botanic Gardens, the incumbent must be in good performance standing to be eligible for remote work. Remote work is at the discretion of management at all times.

- Ability to be flexible and willing to modify plans, when necessary, throughout the day.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite products, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook and Teams.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks under pressure and amid interruptions.
- Proficient in collaboration, teamwork and relationship-building.
- Effective problem-solving skills, strategic thinking and adaptability to change.

Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, event planning or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of customer service, event planning or related experience required.
- Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of working effectively with diverse audiences, spanning from young children to senior adults.
