Job Description
Summer interns are needed to lead groups of week-long campers between the ages of 5-12 years old. Camp topics include nature-based themes that will allow staff and campers to enjoy an exciting indoor and outdoor camp experience. Education interns will also assist with programs at the garden including summer field trips, programming in Sofia’s Play Garden, and general garden experiences. Interns must possess enthusiasm, flexibility, love of the outdoors, and an interest in working with children.
Intern candidates must be available from May 19th-August 8th. Some hours may be available August 11-15th for those who are interested. The hours for this position are 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Monday-Friday (part-time and full-time positions available). You must be available for majority of camp weeks, including the one-week training period in May prior to the start of camps. Any time off requests, except in case of emergency, must be submitted prior to May 19th.

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join Lauritzen Gardens as Education Interns with both part-time and full-time positions available. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working with children in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and youth development and will assist in various activities designed to support the growth and learning of students.
Education and Experience
Experience with elementary-age children in an informal or formal education setting (preferred)
High School diploma or GED (required)
Bachelor’s Degree in progress or completed in related field (preferred)
Certified CPR/First Aid (preferred)
