Brookgreen Gardens is a unique melding of art, nature, and history.
Since its founding in 1931, by Archer and Anna Hyatt Huntington, Brookgreen has been a cultural center for our community. We hope residents and visitors will take pride in the fact that in their midst is one of America’s premier gardens and one of a few select places in the United States to have earned accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums as well as being designated a National Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Join us at Brookgreen Gardens to learn how they balance their vast wild areas, native animal zoo, and formal garden. Not all gardens have wild areas or zoos, but all gardens can embrace and integrate local ecology. Doing so comes with many benefits including increased biodiversity, decreased water usage, and lower maintenance of garden areas.

9:30am: Nature walk into Longleaf pine forest
11:30am: Talk #1
12:00pm: Lunch (provided, please ensure that you select your lunch during registration)
12:30pm: Garden Tour/Zoo Tour
2:45pm: Talk #2
3:30pm: Closing remarks/door prizes
