This webinar will give an update on the status of the emerald ash borer, EAB, as well as advances in treatment and management strategies.
The emerald ash borer (EAB, Agrilus planipennis) was first discovered in North America in 2002. Since that time it has spread throughout much of the eastern half of the continent, killing millions of ash trees in urban and rural settings. There is no effective silvicultural management method, biological control is still in the early stages, and chemical tree protection has proven to be the most effective. This webinar will give an update on the status of EAB in North America, and highlight recent advances in chemical treatment technologies for saving ash trees in urban areas.
