Are you a greenhouse grower who ships to the Canadian market? If so, you should learn about the newly revised U.S. – Canada Greenhouse-Grown Plant Certification Program, or GCP for short. The GCP can make exporting easier for participating growers by allowing them to ship with a special sticker rather than having to get and pay for an inspection and phytosanitary certificate for each and every shipment. The GCP, first implemented in the mid-1990’s, was revised recently by U.S. and Canadian plant health officials. What’s changed and what does it take to participate? AmericanHort and the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association are joining together to host this special webinar, which will cover the following:
-What advantages do GCP-certified growers receive;
-What are the key revisions affecting current and new participants;
-How do current participants transition to the new program and get reauthorized?
The webinar will feature Sarika Negi, Accreditation and Certification Policy Manager, and colleagues at the USDA Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service.
