10 days before finals a 7.1 earthquake strikes southcentral Alaska, closing the University of Alaska Anchorage. Learn how a small, dedicated facilities staff and a handful of contractors repaired damage in 70 buildings, allowing campus to fully reopen 5 days later. The journey included using all resources available, finding tasks suitable for wide variance of skill level, and utilizing the Incident Command System to manage the effort.
