Giving Programs Manager
The Morton Arboretum

General Summary:
 
Manage the Arboretum’s annual giving programs by developing and implementing effective revenue-producing campaigns for member acquisition, retention, upgrade, and additional annual support that contribute to the operating budget.  Support the Arboretum’s mission and vision for philanthropic growth.
 

Job Qualifications:
 
Previous Training and Experience
 
Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of 3 years experience in membership, development, or marketing, preferably at membership-based institution or similar non-profit required. Demonstrated experience in annual giving and membership preferred. Strong and demonstrated writing skills essential. Prior experience managing external partners effectively to complete complex projects. Project management, budget preparation, and financial reporting experience.
Requires computer competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge fundraising software is highly desirable. Must be comfortable and savvy in multifaceted electronic communication technologies.
 
Physical/Mental Requirements:
 
Position requires strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to collaborate across program areas to meet shared goals.  Must be able to make decisions under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must be self-directed, highly accountable, and detail-oriented to ensure high quality, professional results.  Able to manage sensitive information with high degree of confidentiality.  Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills required. Must demonstrate dedication to the Arboretum and its mission.
 
Working Conditions
 
1.   Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, and sometimes off-site.
2.   Requires some physical activity: occasional lifting and carrying (15 lbs.), climbing stairs, prolonged periods of standing/sitting.
3.   Fast-paced office requiring flexibility and pro-active problem-solving.
4.   Some extended work hours, including occasional nights and weekends.
