Naples Botanical Garden Receives Gift

Naples Botanical Garden has received a $3.0 million gift that will fund their future Asian Garden and a $2.5 million gift that will help underwrite their entire 160-acre project. The project will include several cultivated gardens, associated visitor amenities, and the preservation of natural habitats. Both gifts were given anonymously.

Poised to become one of the world's great gardens, Naples Botanical Garden is planning an elaborate mosaic of themed gardens, intertwined with lakes and lagoons. This will provide a platform for the plants and cultures of the Caribbean, Brazil, Asia, and Southwest Florida and incorporate a hands-on Children's garden.

Described as a "design coup for the young garden" by The Miami Herald, an amazing team of internationally recognized leaders in landscape architecture, horticulture and green building will design the effort. Never before has a botanical garden assembled such a brilliant pool of talent. Renowned landscape designer Made Wijaya is designing the Asian Garden.

"I could not be more excited about this vote of confidence in the project," Executive Director Brian Holley said, adding, "We are at a point where everything is coming together is a spectacular manner."
