The Development/Membership Section will provide a framework for fundraising professionals in the public garden industry to network within the industry, to learn from each other’s experiences, and to share best practices.
While fundraising is a challenge shared by the majority of public gardens, each institution has a unique set of circumstances and resources that define and frame its fundraising enterprise. The Development/Membership Section will offer APGA fundraising and membership professionals -- including executive directors -- opportunities to learn from colleagues in the field. Through Section meetings and on-line forums, members will share best practices on membership acquisition and retention, annual fund, sponsorships, tribute/memorial gift programs, major gift fundraising, special events, foundation grants, and capital campaigns. In addition, the Development/Membership Section seeks to cultivate emerging membership and fundraising talent within the public garden industry.
