Tropical Curator needed for the 10,000 sq. ft. conservatory located within the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge of tropical/interiorscape plants, their propagation, culture, and maintenance requirements.  Familiarity with greenhouse or conservatory climate control systems including heaters, fans, thermostats, RO watering systems, sump pumps, etc., also required.  Candidate should be able to climb on a catwalk to maintain plants and infrastructure and perform minor repairs when needed.  Weekend, holiday and special event work required on a rotation with other greenhouse staff.  Senso-phone call -in for climate control warning or updates required for this position. The selected candidate will also be responsible for purchasing and maintaining plants within the garden center hallway displays.

Hours:  Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4 pm with some weekends and holidays as needed.


  • Candidate should have a minimum of two years of greenhouse/conservatory experience.
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a non-commercial TDA pesticide license within 6 months of employment.
  • Possess a valid Texas driver’s license.
  • High school graduate or GED with specialized training in horticulture.  An associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in horticulture preferred.
