About Welkinweir:

Originally purchased in 1935 as a working farm, Welkinweir is the former estate of Everett and Grace Rodebaugh. Today, Welkinweir is an arboretum and nature preserve open to the public whose mission is to:
…inspire and educate the community through excellence in horticulture, historic preservation, and land stewardship. In this we extend and expand Everett and Grace Rodebaugh’s lifelong goal of preserving Welkinweir’s beauty and unique character for the enrichment and enjoyment of the public.
Welkinweir is also the headquarters of the Green Valleys Association, a non-profit watershed protection and environmental education organization founded by the Rodebaughs in 1964, to promote the protection of the natural resources of Northern Chester County, PA, through advocacy and education.
