Campaign Coordinator

General Summary:
 
The Campaign Coordinator provides integral support for the capital campaign and oversees the implementation of all activities as determined by the overall campaign process. Working in partnership with supervisor and Senior Director of Individual and Campaign Giving, the Coordinator will handle campaign communications, campaign cultivation and stewardship activities, support the campaign committee comprised of high level fundraising volunteers, and ensure effective management and stewardship of campaign gifts. Given the comprehensive campaign structure, the coordinator will be engaged in all aspects of fundraising activities to advance the mission of the Arboretum. Funding for this position is temporary, expected to end in 2018.
 
Job Qualifications
 
Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of administrative assistant, event coordination, or related experience in a fundraising, nonprofit or similar capacity required. Experience working with high level volunteers, trustees, and staff leadership is essential. Strong writing skills and proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheet and database are essential. Knowledge of Blackbaud software preferred.
 
Previous Training and Experience
 
Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to function successfully in a professional team structure. Ability to build positive relationships with volunteers, donors, and staff. Must be flexible, able to work independently without supervision, handle multiple tasks, have a keen attention to detail, and even-tempered in moments of stress. High degree of confidentiality required.

Working Conditions
 
1. Work is performed primarily in a fast paced office setting. Occasional outdoor work is required.
2. Requires some physical activity including the ability to lift 10 lbs. and may require long periods of sitting.
3. Attendance at special events requires occasional evening and weekend work.
