President & CEO

Celebrating its 50th anniversary next year, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, based in Naples, has preserved more than 300,000 acres of land, acted as a nonpartisan mediator and constructive force to settle land-use conflicts, brought environmental education into public schools and taught more than one million people about the importance of protecting natural resources.

The President & CEO will build upon the Conservancy’s high degree of commitment to the conservation of biodiversity, environmental and water quality and preservation of natural resources in Southwest Florida; enthusiastically engage volunteers, staff and partners in new ways to leverage greater degrees of productivity and find innovative ways to work constructively with potential environmental adversaries to foster the mission where there is common ground; and manage strategic, business and budget plans which achieve established goals.

We seek an accomplished leader who demonstrates keen understanding of and passion for the unique mission of the Conservancy.  The person must be ready to join with the Board to lead the Conservancy in pursuing aggressive goals in environmental conservation policy, education and research.  Proven ability in fundraising, program development, collaborative ventures and constituency building is required.  A background of bottom-line accountability combined with a knowledge/competency of complex environmental issues would be ideal.

We seek a visionary with exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively interact with Board, staff, other environmental advocates and policy leaders, governmental officials, donors and other key stakeholders including property owners and land developers.  Candidates with executive level achievement in fields of environmental advocacy, policy, research, business, law and/or related fields are encouraged to apply.  A bachelors degree is required; one or more advanced degree(s) are preferred.
