The Ornamental Horticulture department is seeking two Visiting Assistant Professors (10 month) for one year. Candidates should possess a broad-based knowledge of horticulture and understand how ornamental plants are produced, marketed and employed in contemporary landscape settings. Teaching responsibilities may include courses such as general horticulture, plant propagation, soil science, plant production, greenhouse technology, turf grass, horticulture merchandising and plant materials (indoor, herbaceous, and/or woody plants.)
In addition to fulfillment of teaching responsibilities, successful candidates will commit to participate actively in department service activities including student advisement, student recruitment, curriculum development, shared supervision of the greenhouse facility and outdoor Teaching Gardens and assistance with department fundraising activities. Relevant professional and/or teaching experience preferred. This is a temporary 10-month non-tenure track faculty position.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: M.S. (Horticulture, Plant Science or related field) at time of appointment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: PhD. (Horticulture, Plant Science or related area) at time of appointment or ABD.
There are 2 full-time temporary 10 month faculty positions available for 1 year.
