The Plantations Programs and Operations Director (PPOD) serves as the administrator responsible for operations of Plantations.  She/he is responsible for leadership of operational activities, management of public gardens and operations, staff development, communicating effectively with staff, and overall supervision of the Plantations work force. The PPOD will regularly collaborate with the Elizabeth N. Wilds Director of Plantations to implement the overall vision for Plantations as articulated in the strategic plan and will report to the Senior Associate Dean of the College.  

 

This role is responsible for facilitating and managing implementation of all major programmatic or capital initiatives; actively supports the pursuit of grant opportunities; facilitates communication with faculty, students, and University administration; and contributes towards maintaining effective liaisons with the broad array of public constituencies that Plantations serves and partnerships in which it participates.  Areas of responsibility include landscape and garden operations,natural areas, education, human resources, finance, facilities, technological support, IT services related to these operations.
