Position Title: Children’s Program Manager
Position Type: Full-time
Compensation: $1,500 - $1,538 bi-weekly
Job Summary: Manages the day to day operations of the children’s programs at Denver Botanic Gardens including community classes, school programs, outreach, and children’s garden programming. Improves and expands the Garden’s impact through both informal (museum) learning and formal (school) children’s education. Leads children’s program team, manages staff, executes budget and assists in its development, supervises development of new programs and curriculum, and teaches programs on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in education or related field, from four-year college or university; or minimum four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum two years supervisory experience required. Experience managing teaching staff in a museum, nature center, or other informal education settings is preferred. Education experience should be with a variety of grade levels, preK-12th grade. Strong communication skills, written and verbal, plus proven experience in creating unique and creative program curriculum. Basic knowledge of plant science and/or horticulture desirable. Experience developing and executing a budget desirable. Must be capable of independent work. Able to work in a variety of situations with multiple people. Valid Colorado drivers’ license, vehicle insurance and working vehicle is required.
