Position Title: Groundskeeper I
Reports to: Director of Grounds and Facilities, Director of Horticulture
Employment Status: Full time, non-exempt (eligible forbenefits)
Compensation: $14.00 per hour starting pay

Position Summary:
TheGroundskeeperperforms work relatingto theplanting, propagation, cultivation, and careof turf, perennials, shrubs, and trees throughout theReserve.
MajorDuties and Responsibilities:
· Weeding, pruning, mulchingandcleanup
· Operatingvehicles andotherpowerequipment, such as a walk behind lawnmower, chainsaw and backpack blower
· Maintaining grounds usinghand tools suchas shovels, rakes, andpruners
· Assistingwith maintenanceof turfareas, e.g. mowing, trimming, fertilizing, renovation
· Assistingothercrewas needed in various tasks around the Reserve
· Assistingin plant propagation and nurserymaintenance
General Qualifications:
· Must hold orobtain credentials inoneyear, inat least one ofthefollowing areas: Certified Professional Horticulturist, Certified Arborist, Certified PublicWaterSystem Operator,orCertifiedIntegrated Pest Manager
· Minimum twoyears experiencein relatedfield
· Workingknowledgeof plant identification and propagation
· Abilityto lift 50 pounds
· Abilityto standand workon feet foran extended period oftime
· Abilityto work with thepublicin a positive and courteous manner
· Abilitytoaccept supervision and to work harmoniouslywith supervisorand crew members
· Abilityto learn new skills
· To bepunctual andreliable
